Hillsborough County Public Schools (or HCPS; also referred to as “School District of Hillsborough County” or SDHC) serves all of Hillsborough County, Florida. It is the third largest school district in Florida and the 8th largest district in the United States. It is governed by the School Board of Hillsborough County, which consists of seven elected members and one superintendent, who is hired by the board. MaryEllen Elia has served as Superintendent of Hillsborough County Public Schools since 2005.
